These padlocks are meticulously crafted for our storage units and are further safeguarded within a lock box, enhancing break-in protection. The purchase price for these padlocks is over £95, but they are available for rent at a one-off charge of just £12.99.

What security features does the Ripon site have?

We ensure reliable 24/7 security with staff on-site, 10ft fencing, gated access, and CCTV monitoring.

Are the storage units directly accessible with a car or van?

Yes, every unit is directly accessible by car or van 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for your convenience.

What is the minimum and maximum rental period?

28-day minimum rental period with only a 14-day notice period to vacate. No maximum rental period – keep your unit as long as needed.

How do you request payment?

Payment is requested every 4 weeks in advance by debit/credit card.

If you vacate mid-month, we will refund you any overpaid monies, subject to our 14-day notice period.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept debit and credit cards for payment.

How will I receive invoices?

Invoices are always available to view in your customer login area. They are uploaded on each rent due date.

What ID is required to rent a unit?

We require a valid photo ID like a driver’s license or passport to complete the rental agreement.

Will my belongings be kept dry and safe inside the container?

Each unit is wind and watertight so is protected from the elements. They are also equipped with up to 16 specialised container vents to allow maximum ventilation and airflow.

Who are SCA Self Storage and how long have they been established?

SCA Self Storage was originally named Sycamore Storage until March 2020, we are the same company with the same values just a different name, as we look to expand our locations. We have been established from this site at Sycamore Business Park in Ripon since 1995 and will continue to offer self-storage here for years to come!

Do I need insurance?

Yes, all items require insurance to their full replacement value on a new-for-old basis. SCA Self Storage offers specialist self storage contents protections cover with rates starting at £2.25 per week.

Why do I need insurance?

Contents insurance is required to cover your belongings should anything unexpected happen. The same way as you would cover them at home.

Can I take out my own insurance?

Yes, however, your insurance must specifically cover goods in self storage. Household insurances don’t generally include cover for whilst your possessions are in a self-storage facility. If you wish to use your own cover you must check the terms of your insurance and provide us with proof of your cover. It must state that it covers goods stored in a self-storage facility, and name the store you are storing at and the full postal address of the premises. It is your responsibility to keep your insurance documentation valid and up to date.

We always recommend using our specialist self storage contents insurance, which in the event of a claim, will provide you with both the appropriate cover and dedicated support.

What security measures do you have at Sheffield?

We take great care in ensuring full, reliable security around the clock. This is achieved by providing a full-time security guard during business hours, 10ft. perimeter security fencing with gated access, CCTV and number plate recognition cameras and motion sensor alarms all monitored by a mobile security patrol unit. 

Are the storage units directly accessible with a car or van?

Yes, every unit size is directly accessible by car or van 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for your convenience.

We do also offer some first floor units at a heavy discounted rate that are accessible by a staircase, if this is more suitable to your budget.

What is the minimum and maximum rental period?

28-day minimum store period and only a 14-day notice period to vacate. Payment is requested every 4 weeks in advance so if you leave mid-month you will receive a refund for any monies overpaid, after the 14 days.

Do you offer indoor or outdoor storage units?

We offer both! We have a wide variety of sizes of indoor storage units and 2 sizes of external units that are directly accessible by car or van 24/7.

How much does storage cost at Sunderland?

Our storage units start from just £6.13 per week. All units include extended access hours, wifi, use of moving equipment and access to the breakout room with complimentary tea and coffee making facilities.

What are the site access hours?

Customers can access indoor units 6am-10pm, 7 days a week. 

External units can be accessed 24/7.

Our reception is open Monday to Saturday 9am-5pm and Sunder 10am-4pm for new customers wishing to view or sign up in person. Outside of those hours you may complete a booking online and access a unit same-day.

What security features do you offer?

Our Sunderland site has 24/7 monitored CCTV, 10ft perimeter fencing, automated access control using your own personalised PIN, individually alarmed rooms and on-site personnel during office hours.

Do you sell boxes and packaging materials?

Yes! We sell a variety of boxes and packaging materials at great rates so please pop down to the store and we can assist with anything you need.

Do you have a passenger or goods only lift?

We provide a full passenger and goods lift! Unlike some other local storage providers we don’t just provide a lift that can only accept your goods, our lift is able to carry passengers and goods so no need to use the stairs at all. This can really help if you have multiple trips to make.

How do I get my belongings from my vehicle to my storage unit?

We provide free use of our onsite moving and lifting equipment to all customers to assist with loading and unloading. We have a range of platform and sack trolley’s and pallet trucks to help manoeuvre all types of items, making it easy to get your goods from your vehicle to your unit.

All upper floor units have access to our passenger and goods lift so no need to climb any stairs!

What is the minimum and maximum rental period?

Our minimum rental period is just 28 days with a 14-day notice period to vacate. There is no maximum rental period.

Is a padlock necessary for self storage?

Yes. Customers will be required to use their own padlock. Padlocks can be purchased from our reception on the day of move in for your convenience.
